In the episode Teigen appears on, the pair bake homemade Cheez-Its (yes, really) and craft flower necklaces for their children. Teigen's husband, Grammy-winning musicianJohn Legend, also makes a brief appearance in the episode. "I was thinking about how many moons ago we crossed paths," Markle says during the episode's crafting segment. "That was [a] past life. That wasDeal or No Deal." "I know," Teigen says. "I feel like our lives have had so many chapters and that being a really important, funny one. I remember basically being a backup girl." Jake Rosenberg/Netflix Markle quips, "The alternate!" "Thenbecoming the banker," Teigen adds. "I remember all having to stand in line to get our lashes put on, like in a row," Markle says of the beauty ritual. "And they had like a Ziploc bag open and we all just took our eyelashes off and put them in there," Teigen recalls. "I'm like… are these for tomorrow? Oh my lord. What a time, though." The best part of the job for Markle? "I was so happy to have health insurance," she says. Markle also marveled at Teigen's success not long after her stint on the show. "I left that show and a year or so later, you got famous. I was like, 'Oh my God, she's on the cover ofSports Illustrated!You were so sweet." Teigen notes the fellow briefcase models were "not competitive at all" with each other. "I was fascinated by all of you and just so happy to be in the world of Hollywood," she says. "How far we've come," Markle says. Markle appeared as a briefcase model for the show between 2006 and 2007, during the first two seasons of the show. Teigen's tenure overlapped with Markle during season 2 in 2007, and she left the show the following year. Markle, who rose to fame for her role as attorney Rachel Zane on the legal dramaSuits, stepped back from acting in 2017 to wedPrince Harry. Following the couple's exodus from the British royal family in 2020, they've been expanding their business portfolio with podcasts and content for Netflix, including several docuseries andWith Love, Meghan.
