On Wednesday, the record low territory expands toward the southern Great Lakes and into the Southeast. Rain in parts of Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas could keep high temperatures in the 60s and 70s, breaking some records, the weather service said. "This heat will be dangerous, posing a threat to anyone without effective cooling and adequate hydration," the weather service warned. "For many areas, there will be little nighttime relief from the extreme heat, with overnight lows remaining well above normal.
