The married couple were photographed out for a stroll in Italy's capital on Tuesday, May 5, just over a month before they celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary in June. Matthew, 56, wore a blue suit, casual shoes and a white shirt sans tie for their date night, while Camila, 43, dressed in a loose-fitting all-black outfit with white sneakers. The couple appeared to travel to Rome ahead of production for Matthew's new Italy-set Netflix moviePositano;Deadlinereported in December that he will costar with Zoe Saldaña.

Matthew and Camila met in 2006 and began dating by 2007; the couplemarried in 2012. They sharethree children, including son Levi, 17, daughter Vida, 16, and youngest son Livingston, 13. The couple celebrate their wedding anniversary on June 9 each year, though they admitted in 2025 that theyfrequently forget which datethe actual milestone took place on. "This joke's happened many times before, and we don't mean it for it to happen, but for whatever reason, Camila and I never remember our anniversary," he said, in a video he reshared toInstagramfrom anAccess Hollywoodinterview.

Matthew and the Brazilian-born Camila famously met for the first time at a nightclub in Los Angeles. "It was as if she was floating. And I did not say, ‘Who is that?' I said, ‘What is that?' And then introduced myself," he told PEOPLE back in 2020. "Since that evening I have not wanted to spend time with any other woman, definitely have not wanted to sleep with anyone else. I've not wanted to have children with anyone else other than her."

“American Hostage” first look: Jon Hamm reprises podcast role in “The Night Agent” creator's new thriller (exclusive)

Based onthe first season of that 2022 audio series, the new psychological thriller sees theMad MenandYour Friends & Neighborsstar as Fred Heckman, a beloved Indianapolis radio reporter who finds himself at the center of a crisis when a hostage-taker demands to be interviewed for his popular news program.

Ryan describes Fred as "a man of strong morals, with deep integrity" that are challenged through the hostage crisis. "Fred believes in the mission of journalism, speaking truth to power and is a strong family man," the co-showrunner and executive producer writes toEntertainment Weeklyover email. "In many ways, I think this is the most moral man I've seen Jon Hamm play. The trouble for Fred comes when his personal life intersects with this crisis."

Similar to the podcast, the series dramatizes a real-world incident. In 1977, a man named Tony Kiritsis held his mortgage broker, Richard "Dick" Hall, hostage with a shotgun strapped to the back of his head. Dick earlier refused Tony an extension after falling behind on his mortgage payments. The kidnapper made frequent calls to Fred at radio station WIBC in demanding justice.

Giovanni Ribisiand Kristoffer Polaha star as Tony and Dick, respectively, whileMireille Enosplays Barbara, Fred's wife who becomes the liaison to Ibby (Kat Cunning), Dick's wife. "I think one of the strongest moments of the series is when Fred feels compelled to publicly reveal a family secret to earn Tony's trust and avert a deadly end to the crisis, but causes a rupture in his marriage as a result," Ryan writes to EW.

The podcast became a jumping-off point for the new series, as Myers describes expanding the world of Indianapolis and creating new characters. "One of the pros was having Jon Hamm’s voice in our heads as we were writing," the other co-showrunner relays of the adaptation process. "I didn’t feel like there were cons, just that we needed to rethink and reinvent."

American Hostage, also executive produced by Hamm, further deviates from the source material by digging into Fred's past with his father "and how some painful experiences there inform his current dilemma," Myers explains. "Fred is pushed to his limit over these three days — he wants to do the right thing but it’s at a great personal cost — Shawn mentioned the tension it creates in his marriage. It also puts his job and legacy at risk and jeopardizes his deep friendship with his colleague Ben Hairston [William Jackson Harper]."

The main cast also features Jonathan Tucker (Kingdom) in the recurring role of FBI Special Agent Cormac McNally.

It was Ryan and Myers' personal connections to the original podcast that made the material feel cinematic. The former writes about living through the '70s and growing up in Illinois. For Myers, her father used to work forABC News. She wanted to depict "the energy and excitement of a news station contrasted with the hushed tension of the dimly lit control rooms with all the switches and lights."

5 new Broadway shows that you absolutely must see this summer

Spring has sprung on Broadway ‒ and along with it, a whole bunch of new shows to satiate theater fans.

Over the last month and a half, more than a dozen new plays and musicals have opened in New York's theater district, coming in just under the wire beforeTony Awardsnominations are announced May 5.

Last fall's offerings left much to be desired, with the exceptions ofsome playsand the thoroughly delightful"Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)."The spring hasn't fared much better, although there are exceptions.

Leave it to "Saturday Night Live" vetRachel Dratchto completely nail the assignment in"The Rocky Horror Show,"an oddly straightjacketed yet visually eye-popping revival of the queer cult classic. We admittedly welled up at least a couple times watching"Every Brilliant Thing,"a cavity-inducing one-person show that works entirely because of the infectious likability and enthusiasm ofDaniel Radcliffe.

And even among the major disappointments, there were still bright spots: Sara Chase and McKenzie Kurtz are boundlessly charming in the otherwise exhausting"Schmigadoon!", adapted from the one-joke Apple TV comedy series. Samantha Schwartz is a pint-sized cyclone who cheekily bulldozes through the disaster zone that is"Beaches,"while the reliably excellent Linda Emond elevates the sour slog of"Becky Shaw"with vicious hilarity.

Nonetheless, if you're planning a trip to New York in the coming months, here are the five shows that we'd wholeheartedly recommend:

5. 'The Balusters'

In recent years, there has been no shortage of new shows skewering liberal hypocrisy and unchecked privilege. But few do it better than playwright David Lindsay-Abaire, who throws a stick of dynamite into an affluent neighborhood association meeting, where a squabble over stop signs slowly descends into "Lord of the Flies"-style chaos. It's a biting satire that leaves no one person unscathed, with plenty of genuinely startling twists and a top-to-bottom fantastic ensemble led by the endearing Marylouise Burke and compelling Anika Noni Rose, whose naive newcomer is not all that she appears to be.

Now playing at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 W. 47th St.) through June 7.

4. 'Titanique'

We’ve had the great pleasure of seeing “Titanique” in all of its New York iterations, from the basement of a Gristedes grocery store to its slightly larger digs in Union Square. We feared this deeply silly “Titanic” parody might drown in a Broadway house, but remarkably, the show is sharper and funnier than it’s ever been. Set to a decibel-busting catalog of Celine Dion favorites, the laugh-a-minute musical imagines if Dion herself was a passenger on the Ship of Dreams. The cast is blissfully bonkers, from the brilliantly unhinged Marla Mindelle to the game-for-anything Melissa Barrera, making a dazzling Broadway debut as Rose. But Jim Parsons and Layton Williams all but run away with the evening, finding diabolical laughs as Rose’s helicopter mom and a Tina Turner-esque iceberg.

3. 'Fallen Angels'

Rose ByrneandKelli O’Haraare heaven-sent in this divine and delirious revival of Noël Coward’s sneakily groundbreaking 1925 play, about a pair of high-society housewives who hatch a plot to hook up with their former lover (Mark Consuelos). We’ve all known for years that Byrne is a comedic genius (“Spy,"anyone?), and here, she whips out a Rolodex of side-splitting expressions and zesty one-liners. But to our wonderful surprise, O’Hara is equally adept at slapstick hijinks, as the lustful ladies get sufficiently sozzled awaiting their mysterious beau.

Now playing at the Todd Haimes Theatre (227 W. 42nd St.) through June 7.

2. 'Death of a Salesman'

At the risk of sounding excessively hyperbolic,Nathan LaneandLaurie Metcalfgive two of the most stunning performances you'll ever see on a Broadway stage. In Joe Mantello’s staggering new production of Arthur Miller’s 1949 American tragedy, self-deluded everyman Willy Loman (Lane) gets lost in the funhouse mirror of his life, haunted by the squandered potential of both him and his son, Biff (the revelatory Christopher Abbott). Lane harrowingly captures the paralyzing fear of being ordinary, while Metcalf will overwhelm you with the sheer emotion of her performance as Willy’s fiercely loyal wife, Linda. We genuinely can’t remember the last time we were left so completely speechless by a piece of theater.

Now playing at the Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway) through Aug. 9.

1. 'Cats: The Jellicle Ball'

Is there any other (Jellicle) choice? The absolutely undeniable must-see show of the summer is “The Jellicle Ball,” which takes a glitter-dusted sledgehammer toAndrew Lloyd Webber’s 1982 mega-musical and transplants it to Harlem’s queer ballroom scene. The greatest revivals are the ones that make you totally rethink a show you always thought you knew, and here, co-directors Zhailon Levingston and Bill Rauch unearth astonishing new layers of “Cats,” telling an unexpectedly stirring story of survival and found family. The entire cast is off-the-charts phenomenal, and the mind-blowing choreography by Omari Wiles and Arturo Lyons is the very best to hit the Main Stem in years.

It’s ecstatic, sexy and outrageously fun – it’s heaven on earth for anyone who loves Broadway.

Now playing at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 W. 44th St.).

Britney Spears' lawyer is speaking out after she took a plea deal in her DUI case.

Spears' lawyer, Michael A. Goldstein, appeared on the 44-year-old pop star's behalf at a Ventura County courthouse on Monday, May 4 for her arraignment after she was arrested in March on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Goldstein agreed on Spears' behalf to plead guilty to what's known as a "wet reckless." She was sentenced to 12 months probation and one day of jail, credited as time served, by Ventura County Commissioner Matthew Nemerson. She was fined $571.00 and must see a psychologist once a week and a psychiatrist twice a month. Her vehicle is authorized to be searched for drugs and alcohol.

In a statement to PEOPLE, Goldstein says, "Through her plea today, Britney has accepted responsibility for her conduct.  She has taken significant steps to implement positive change which is clearly reflected in the Ventura County District Attorney’s decision to reduce the charge in this case and dismiss the DUI."

He continued, "Britney appreciates this discretion and is also grateful for the outpouring of support she has received."

Last week,Spears left a treatment facilityafter voluntarily entering following the arrest. She's since been photographed riding as a passenger in a car multiple times.

Spearswas officially charged with a misdemeanor, prosecutors in the Ventura County District Attorney's Office announced on Thursday, April 30.

PEOPLE previously reported Spears was likely to avoid jail time in her case if she were to plead guilty to a lesser charge through a standard protocol known as a "wet reckless," which lets a defendant plead guilty to reckless driving involving alcohol and/or drugs and undergo 12 months of probation while earning credit for any time spent in custody.

In that scenario, the defendant is required to complete a DUI class and also pay state-mandated fines and fees.

Spears was eligible for the deal due to her lack of a prior DUI history as well as the facts that there was no crash or injury in her arrest, and she had a low blood alcohol level.

Such resolutions are common, according to officers, especially when the defendant “demonstrates self-motivation to address underlying issues through rehabilitation or a drug and alcohol treatment program.”

Following Spears' arrest, a rep for the Grammy winner told PEOPLE she would take “the right steps and comply with the law.”

“Hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney's life,” the rep said. “Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time. Her boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well being.”

At the time, a source told PEOPLE that Spears' sons —Sean Preston, 20, andJayden James, 19, shared with ex-husbandKevin Federline— were animportant factor in her choosingto seek help.

"Her sons were a big part of getting her to rehab. They've been clear with her. They just want her to be healthy," the source said.

Asecond sourceadded, "She understands the seriousness of her situation and felt [seeking treatment] was the best step moving forward."
