The recent California sentencing marks the latest development in a string of legal troubles over the past five years.

The sentence stems from a February 2024 traffic stop in La Quinta. At the time, he was charged with felony DUI and a misdemeanor count of alleged contempt of court.

"Our marriage was a triumph," Short said in a2019 interview with AARP. "So it's tough. She died in 2010, but I still communicate with her all the time. It's 'Hey Nan,' you know? How would she react to this decision or that, especially regarding our three kids."

Short also has two sons, Oliver Patrick Short, 39, and Henry Hayter Short, 46, whom he shared with Dolman.

Both attended college at the University of Notre Dame. Oliver Patrick Short coached the women's ice hockey team and was captain of the men's snowboard team, according to hisLinkedInpage. In 2008, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in film and television production.

Trump's surgeon general pick to appear before Senate in highly anticipated hearing

Dr. Casey Means will appear before the Senate on Wednesday in a long-awaited hearing to discuss her highly scrutinized nomination for surgeon general.

NBC Universal Casey Means. (Ben Curtis / AP file)

Means, a popular wellness influencer, was a campaign adviser during Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s presidential bid and an architect of his "Make America Healthy Again" agenda. Her brother, Calley Means, is a Kennedy ally and senior adviser to the Health and Human Services Department.

If confirmed to the role, Means would be an outlier among surgeons general: She does not hold an active medical license (her license lapsed in January 2024) and she did not complete her medical residency (she graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine but left a surgical residency program at Oregon Health and Science University in 2018, just months before she was due to complete it).

As a result, many medical professionals havequestioned whether Means is qualifiedto become America's top doctor with the authority to issue health warnings and advisories for the entire country.

Means did not respond to a request for comment ahead of the hearing. Emily Hilliard, a spokesperson for HHS, said that Means' "credentials, research background, and experience in public life give her the right insights to be the surgeon general who helps make sure America never again becomes the sickest nation on Earth."

President Donald Trump nominated Means for surgeon general in May on Kennedy's recommendation afterwithdrawing his previous choice, former Fox News medical contributor Dr. Janette Nesheiwat.

Means' confirmation hearing — previously scheduled for October — waspostponed after she went into laborwith her first child. Her nomination subsequently expired, so Trump nominated her again Jan. 13.

In her new role, she would also oversee the Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, a federal branch whose officers include physicians, nurses, scientists and engineers. The branchrequires its officers to maintain active licensesin their respective fields.

Means could face tough questions Wednesday from Democratic members of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee about her alignment with Kennedy, a long-time anti-vaccine activist who is now the secretary of health and human services.

The confirmation hearing comes amid mounting scrutiny of Kennedy's leadership from Democrats and some Republican lawmakers. In his first year in office, Kennedy hasfired top health officials, overhauled the childhood vaccine schedule, downplayed the role of vaccinationsduring anunprecedented measles outbreakand slashed funding for critical research areas likemRNA shots.

Like Kennedy, Means has gained popularity in wellness circles because of her messages about outsized corporate influence in the food and pharmaceutical industries. She has often expressed skepticism of traditional medicine, writing on her website thathormonal birth controlhas "horrifying health risks" and thatthe "total burden" of the vaccine schedule— before Kennedy overhauled it — is "causing health declines in vulnerable children." (Neither claim is substantiated by scientific evidence. Routine childhood shots are backed by decades of safety data, and serious complications from hormonal birth control are rare.)

Prior to her nomination, Means sold dietary supplements, teas and other wellness products on social media — a subject that has generated concern about potential conflicts of interest. A review from Public Citizen, a consumer advocacy group, determined that Meansdid not consistently disclosethat she could profit or benefit from the sale of certain products.

The group has also raised questions about whether Means stands to profit fromKennedy's endorsement of wearable devices, since she co-founded Levels, a company that helps people track their blood glucose via a wearable monitor and app.

Meanssigned an ethics agreementin September stating that she would resign from her advisory position at Levels and stop putting up monetized social media posts. She also agreed to stop producing her newsletter and promoting a 2024 book she co-wrote, "Good Energy."

The book argues that people can "improve and extend their lives" through "simple principles doctors aren't taught in medical school" — namely eating healthier, getting more sleep and physical activity, and understanding one's underlying disease risk.

Tensions within the British royal family have once again come under the spotlight after an author alleged thatPrince WilliamaccusedMeghan Markleof being "difficult and rude." Prince William accused Meghan Markle of 'being rude,' claims author Russell Myers

A new royal biography by Russell Myers shed light on the dynamics betweenPrince William, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle in the context of the treatment of their royal staff in the months preceding their May 2018 wedding. The author wrote that it was an exhausting time for the organizers and staff, who put in a lot of effort to make sure everything went smoothly. William noticed stress among the staff and offered apologies on behalf of Harry.

As reported byRadarOnline, the Prince and Princess of Wales had worked hard to create a "nice and relaxed working atmosphere." However, during the few months leading up to Harry and Markle's marriage, the calm environment they had built was completely "extinguished," causing people to leave frequently. Middleton and William were also concerned thatHarry and Markle's actions could negatively affect the self-esteem of the staff working at Kensington Palace.

Since the Waleses wanted everything to be cordial, they invited the newlyweds to their home in 2018 for apeace talk. However, Myers added in his book that the conversation didn't end well. He explained that the Sussexes didn't acknowledge that they contributed to an overall stressful work environment, which infuriated William.

Myers claimed, "William accused Meghan of being difficult and rude, and according to Harry, pointed directly at his wife." Meanwhile, a source claimed that the entire atmosphere was "ugly," mentioning the fight.

Angel Reese's outfit was anchored by a vibrant Roberto Cavalli midi dress — a quintessential piece for embodying the mob wife look. The dress was defined by its iconic and classic leopard print, which adorned the entirety of the fluid, silk-like fabric. This bold pattern was strikingly contrasted with pops of color. Neon lime green and bright pink piping highlighted the edges and neckline, adding a contemporary, almost electric, touch to the traditional animal print.

The dress also featured a sleek slip-style design with a deep V-neckline, emphasizing the athlete's glamorous décolletage. Adding to its daring allure, the garment was delicately suspended by ultra-thin, almost imperceptible hanging-by-a-string straps. As a result, this created an elegant and slightly precarious silhouette that draped beautifully into a midi length.

To complement the opulent nature of the dress, Reese layered on heavy gold hardware and luxury accessories. Her jewelry selection included a chunky, thick chain link necklace that sat prominently at her collarbone. Reese paired this with oversized gold hoop earrings. Her arms were adorned with multiple stacked gold bangles, and she sported several gold rings, further amplifying the lavish aesthetic. A distinctive decorative gold arm cuff completed her metallic ensemble.

Adding another touch of classic luxury, Reese carried a mini chocolate brown leather Hermès Kelly bag. Her beauty look was equally polished, featuring intricate, sleek back-braided rows in her hair. Lastly, the basketball player's makeup included sharp winged eyeliner for a dramatic gaze and a glossy mauve lip, perfectly harmonizing with the warm, rich tones of her animal print dress.
