On Friday, Oct. 3, the former music mogul wassentenced to more than four years in prisonfollowing anearly two-month federal trialthat ended with him being convicted ontwo counts of transportation to engage in prostitutionin July. He wasacquittedof sex trafficking and racketeering charges. Combs was given credit for time served and will serve a prison term of 36 months, or three years. Judge Arun Subramanian also sentenced Combs to five years of supervised release and imposed a $500,000 fine, the maximum allowable fine. "We are confident that with the support of her family and friends, Ms. Ventura will continue healing knowing that her bravery and fortitude have been an inspiration to so many," their statement continued. In November 2023,Cassie filed a lawsuit in New York against Diddy, whomshe dated on-again-off-againfrom 2007 to 2018,accusing him of sexual assault and physical abuse. Ventura, whileeight months pregnant with her third child,testified during Combs' sex trafficking trialand gave raw insight into their former relationship andthe alleged "Freak Off" sex parties. Days after completing her multiday emotional testimony, Ventura welcomed herthird baby, a boy, with husbandAlex Fine. The singer would go on toexpress her fear of "swift retribution" by Combs and his associatesin a letter to the judge shortly before his sentencing, asking him to consider "the many lives that Sean Combs has upended with his abuse and control."
