You can never really leave Tree Hill, and the cast of the hit series knows that better than anyone.
For fans, Tree Hill isn't just a place, it's a state of mind.
So when two One Tree Hill icons reunited for a new project, fans understandably lost it. Bethany JoyLenz and Tyler Hilton took to social media to share photos from a recent music session, recreating the magic from 20 years ago and sparking a wave of nostalgia and excitement for what's to come.
Longtime OTH fans will remember that Lenz and Hilton's characters, Haley James Scott and Chris Keller, respectively, shared undeniable on-screen chemistry, with their musical connection taking them on tour together and nearly ruining Haley's marriage to Nathan Scott (played by James Lafferty).
Fans may not have shipped Haley and Chris Keller then, but that's far from the case in real life, as Lenz and Hilton's reunion left fans thrilled to see them collaborating again.
Music was a huge focus for the teen drama, with Lenz and Keller's duet, "When the Stars Go Blue," which they recorded on-screen in One Tree Hill Season 2 Episode 8, still giving goosebumps two decades later.

The two have reunited at several fan conventions in the past, though the most recent photos give fans a glimpse of the duo in a recording studio as Hilton plays the guitar and Lenz sings into a microphone.
"It's like we never left..." the caption teased, encouraging fans to turn the "volume up."
A follow-up "How It Started" vs. "How It's Going" post featured a clip from the original episode, along with a new shot of the two in the recording studio, confirming that they are re-recording vocals for the hit song made popular on The WB and CW series.
"20 years later • Celebrate with us, starting Friday 10/31," the post teased, revealing a Halloween release.

When one fan questioned, "New version on Spotify and Apple music soon?," Hilton replied, "Oh you just wait."
Kate Voegele, who played Mia Catalano and performed songs for the show's soundtrack, commented, "Iconic duo right there," as Halloweentown's Kimberly J. Brown chimed in, "Yaaaaay!"
Bryan Greenberg, who played Jake Jagielski, wrote, "Sounding as good as ever my friends," as Kimberly Williams Paisley added, "Love it!❤️"
"So excited!!!! 🥹 what a gift this will be to all of us!" one wrote, as another added, "Ohhh, it's happening!"
Others barely held it together with comments like "I AM SAT," "Oh my god ??" and "absolutely unable to remain calm."
Of course, there were pleny of jokes about the reunion, as one declared, "Nathan Scott would be so mad, BUT I love that so much. Oh my God 🤩"
In addition to giving fans new One Tree Hill sounds, Hilton will be gracing TV screens this holiday season on Lifetime's Thank God: Christmas at Keller Ranch (pun-intended, it seems), opposite The Vampire Diaries actress Arielle Kebbel.
Meanwhile, Lafferty is set to star in his first-ever Christmas film, titled A Pickleball Christmas, while Chad Michael Murray (Lucas Scott) will also bring joy in Hulu's Joy to the World.
Maybe the new "When the Stars Go Blue" will be included in the previously teased One Tree Hill sequel?
