Sherri Shepherd is still holding a grudge against "Little House on the Prairie" star: 'Can't let this one go'

Jamie McCarthy/Getty; Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Sherri Shepherdcan forgive, but she can't forget. The daytime talk show host is opening up about still feeling salty overher early eliminationfromDancing With the Starsseason 14 — and the role that a certainLittle House on the Prairiestar played in her unceremonious exit. "I don't know how I went home beforeMelissa GilbertfromLittle House on the Prairie," Shepherd grouses to her studio audience ina preview clipfrom Friday's episode ofSherri. "I'm telling you, I still can't let this one go." She continues: "Let me tell you what happened. Melissa Gilbert — I don't know what dance she was doing. Her partner was Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Melissa fell and she hit her head against Maks' leg, allegedly, and so she went to the doggone hospital but I got voted off. I kept going, 'How did she beat me from the ICU?!'" Gilbert did indeed sit out week 4 of the the long-running reality competition series' 14th season, which aired in 2012. The previous week, while dancing the paso doble on stage, Gilbert smashed her head into Chmerkovskiy's leg while he spun her on the ground. She finished out the dance but was rushed backstage and eventually taken to a hospital after complaining of dizziness. "You feel responsible for your partners,"Chmerkovskiy saidmoments after Gilbert was escorted out of the ballroom. "You start questioning are you doing the right things, is this necessary as part of choreography." It was a shock when the bottom two pairs then consisted of Shepherd and her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy (Maks' brother), and Karina Smirnoff and Gavin DeGraw (who carried Gilbert to the ambulance from the backstage area). WhenShepherd was subsequently eliminated, she burst into tears, thanking the show for "letting me live a dream that I've always had… and I want to say to every person out there — that thing that scares you the most, that makes you say, 'I don't know if I can do it I'm scared,' run towards it, because it's so amazing on the other side.'" More than a decade later, Shepherd is joking that her gratitude for the opportunity has since burned off, leaving only resentment over what could have been. "When I tell y'all I was so mad at Melissa Gilbert," Shepherd says with a playful smile. "When she ran for the president of the Screen Actors Guild for the actors, I didn't vote. I didn't vote for Melissa. She even called me, she said, 'Sherri, can I count on your vote?' I said, 'Melissa, did you count on my vote onDancing With the Stars?'" Shepherd then clarifies, "Melissa, I'm good with you now. You're lucky and really sweet, and if you run again for president, you've got my vote, girl." Entertainment Weeklyhas reached out to representatives for Gilbert for comment. Shepherd's walk down memory lane toward herDancing With the Starsdays was prompted by this weeks' shocking elimination of Fifth Harmony star Lauren Jauregui from the current season. Jauregui was one of last week's highlights, and her week 3 cha-cha-cha to her own song, "Work From Home," with partner Brandon Armstrong scored the couple 18 points, tying them for last place with the celeb most fans expected to see sent packing, Andy Richter. Dancing With the Starsairs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+, and streams the next day on Hulu. Watch theSherriclip above for more from Shepherd. Apple takes down app that allows people to track and anonymously report sightings of ICE agentsNew Foto - Apple takes down app that allows people to track and anonymously report sightings of ICE agents

Applehas taken down an app that uses crowdsourcing to flag sightings ofU.S. immigration agents, apparently after being pressured by U.S. authorities. ICEBlock, a free iPhone-only app lets users anonymously report and monitor activity by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers, was no longer available on Apple's App Store as of Friday. "We just received a message from Apple's App Review that#ICEBlockhas been removed from the App Store due to "objectionable content'," the developer said in a social media post. "The only thing we can imagine is this is due to pressure from the Trump Admin. We have responded and we'll fight this!" The developer said last month that it had more than 1 million users. Even though it has been removed from the app marketplace, those who have already downloaded the app should still be able to use it. Apple did not respond immediately to a request for comment. "We created the App Store to be a safe and trusted place to discover apps," the company said in a statement to other media outlets. "Based on information we've received from law enforcement about the safety risks associated with ICEBlock, we have removed it and similar apps from the App Store." Downloads of apps like ICEblock have surged as theTrumpadministration steps up immigration enforcement with surprise raids. The technology has come under fire from authorities after agents were targeted. Officials said last month that a gunman who opened fire on anImmigration and Customs Enforcement facilityin Dallas had searched for apps that tracked the presence of ICE agents.

Situation for mothers and babies in Gaza has 'never been worse', says UNICEFNew Foto - Situation for mothers and babies in Gaza has 'never been worse', says UNICEF

By Olivia Le Poidevin GENEVA (Reuters) -Mothers and newborn babies in Gaza face dire conditions as Nasser hospital in the south of the enclave is overwhelmed with patients fleeing the north and medical resources running out, UNICEF said on Friday. "The situation for mothers and newborns in Gaza has never been worse. In Nasser hospital, we're seeing hospital corridors lined with women who've just given birth," UNICEF spokesperson James Elder told reporters in Geneva via video link from Gaza. The World Health Organization said on Friday that the health system was on the brink of collapse. Dr Rik Peeperkorn, WHO's representative for the occupied Palestinian Territory said he had never seen Nasser hospital so crowded, as patients flee from Gaza City - which is at the centre of Israel's expanded military offensive, towards the south of the enclave. Israel has told the entire million-strong population of Gaza City to head south as it mounts one of the biggest offensives of the war this month, vowing to root out Hamas fighters in what it says are their last bastions in Gaza's biggest urban area. "Every corridor you see mattresses and patients on the floor. There's a huge increase," Peeperkorn said, adding that a large number of patients are coming from the north. Only 14 of Gaza's 36 hospitals remained partly functional, according to the WHO. Elder described new mothers and their newborn children lying on the floor in Nasser hospital, and also reported seeing three premature babies sharing a single oxygen source. "They shared 20 minutes each. The other two children cry while the third child gets that oxygen for 20 minutes," Elder said. The WHO says there is a vast shortage of medical supplies. "We see fast declining shortages of essential items such as dressing kits, gauzes...but also everything relates to blood supplies and transfusion kits," Peeperkorn said, reporting ongoing problems getting the supplies in. Israel says there is no quantitative limit on aid entering Gaza and accuses Hamas, which it has been at war with for nearly two years, of stealing aid -- accusations the Palestinian militant group denies. Mullally named as first female Archbishop to lead Church of EnglandNew Foto - Mullally named as first female Archbishop to lead Church of England

By Muvija M CANTERBURY, England (Reuters) -Sarah Mullally was named on Friday as the first female Archbishop of Canterbury in the 1,400-year history of the role, but her appointment immediately drew criticism from conservative Anglicans mainly based in Africa who oppose women bishops. Mullally will not only lead the Church of England but also become the ceremonial head of some 85 million Anglicans worldwide and, like her predecessors, faces a tough challenge in bridging the divide between conservatives, especially in Africa, where homosexuality is outlawed in some countries, and more liberal Western Christians. Making her first address in Canterbury Cathedral, the 63-year-old former career nurse condemned the sexual abuse scandals and safeguarding issues that have dogged the Church and also antisemitism following an attack on a synagogue in Manchester on Thursday which killed two men. NEW ARCHBISHOP HAS SUPPORTED LIBERAL CAUSES GAFCON, a grouping of conservative Anglican churches globally, immediately criticised Mullally's appointment, saying it showed that the English arm of the Church had "relinquished its authority to lead". Addressing those who might object to the appointment of a woman, Mullally said: "I intend to be a shepherd who enables everyone's ministry and vocation to flourish, whatever our tradition." Reforms introduced 11 years ago made it possible for a woman to hold the office, and in being named as the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury, Mullally becomes leader of one of the last British institutions to have been monopolised by men. Bishop of London since 2018, she has previously championed several liberal causes within the Church, including allowing blessings for same-sex couples in civil partnerships and marriages. In her address, Mullally spoke of the difficulties of an age which "craves certainty and tribalism" and a country which is wrestling with complex moral and political questions around migration and communities feeling overlooked. "Mindful of the horrific violence of yesterday's attack on a synagogue in Manchester, we are witnessing hatred that rises up through fractures across our communities," she said. It is the "glory of Christ" that gives her hope in a world which often feels "on the brink", she added. (Reporting by Muvija M, writing by Sarah YoungEditing by Gareth Jones)

Prince William Hints at Major Shake-Ups When He Becomes KingNew Foto - Prince William Hints at Major Shake-Ups When He Becomes King

Courtesy of Apple Prince William says there will be changes in stores once he takes the throne The comment comes during his conversation with Eugene Levy in the Apple TV+ seriesThe Reluctant Traveler "I think it's safe to say that change is on my agenda. Change for good," the royal says Prince Williamis thinking ahead to what kind of leader he'd like to be when he accedes to the throne. In the third season of Eugene Levy's Apple TV+ seriesThe Reluctant Traveler, the Prince of Wales, 43, speaks at length with the actor, reflecting on the changes he's planning to implement during his reign. In the episode titled "Living the Royal Life in the U.K.," the pair delves into a deeper conversation after their introduction at Windsor Castle, during which Prince William jokes, "I heard you were in town, so I thought why not get you over here. I was a big fan of your earlier films, Eugene, all theAmerican Pies." Levy recalls that his family was perhaps the first on their block to have a television set, which allowed him to watch the coronation of Prince William's grandmotherQueen Elizabeth, who died in 2022. Her eldest son and William's father,King Charles, then acceded to the throne. Courtesy of Apple "You will one day be King of England. Do you think about that at all?" Levy asks. "It's not something I wake up in the morning and think about, because to me, being authentic and being myself and being genuine is what drives me," William answers. "And then you can attach whatever labels and kind of roles that come on top of that, but if I'm not true to myself, and I'm not true to what I stand for and believe in - then it doesn't really matter who you are, it gets lost," William continues. "I take my roles and my responsibilities seriously, but it's important, like I said to you earlier, you don't feel they own you - you have to own them." Levy also inquires whether the monarchy would shift in a "slightly different direction" under Prince William's leadership. "I think it's safe to say that change is on my agenda. Change for good. And I embrace that and I enjoy that change — I don't fear it," William says. "That's the bit that excites me — is the idea of being able to bring some change. Not overly radical change, but changes that I think that need to happen." Earlier in their conversation, the duo reflects on the legacy of Windsor itself. "Ever get overwhelmed, just by the sheer history of the place?" Levy asks. "When you say it like that, it sounds like I should say yes!" William responds as they both laugh. "But no, I wouldn't say history overwhelms me. Other things overwhelm me, but not history, no. Because I think if you're not careful, history can be a real weight and an anchor around you, and you can feel suffocated by it, and restricted by it too much," William continues. Ian Gavan/Apple TV+ While history may not feel daunting to the Prince of Wales, he opens up about what does weigh on him. "Stuff to do with family overwhelms me, quite a bit," William says. "You know, worry or stress around the family side of things that does overwhelm me quite a bit. But in terms of, you know, doing the job and things like that, I don't feel too overwhelmed by that."
