The Kansas City Chiefs coach reacted to tight end's big newsin an interview with Kansas City sports radio 810on Friday, Aug. 29. "Listen, I'm happy for 'em," Reid, 67, said. "It's hard to find somebody that you fall in love with, that's not an easy thing to really fall in love and it seems like they're there." Reid, who both Swift and Kelce have winkingly said had a hand in playing cupid for them, has been supportive of their relationship since the start. "They like being around each other and that's a plus I think." He added, "They're both busy people in their own right, and both are very famous in their own right, so its kinda neat that they come together and handle themselves the way they do." The head coach shared in the past that he's been a Swiftie since his days coaching the Philadelphia Eagles, based near her hometown of Reading, Pa. "She's been great. I knew her before, from Philadelphia," Reid toldTom Bradyon his showLet's Go!in January 2024. "Her dad [Scott Swift] played at [University of] Delaware and was a big football fan and good guy," Reid explained. "So I had met him there and her." And just weeks before the couple announced their engagement, Reid was asked if he could share stories he'd want to tell about the coupleat a potential future wedding. "Well there are a few I can't tell," Reid responded during his appearance on sports radio's96.5 The Fanwith Fescoe and Dusty. The hosts, naturally, playfully pried the coach an answer, to which he ultimately opened up about his star player. "No, there are a lot of great stories," the Chiefs' head said of Kelce. He's got a big heart that way and I appreciate that the most." During the same Aug. 7 interview, Reid complimented Swift's music and revealed he's a fan of herRedalbum. "Now listen, I knew her before he knew her," he said on the show. "My family has been a big fan of hers, and we know her father and mother... from the Philadelphia area, Pennsylvania," he said. "Her dad is a huge football fan, so we hit it off with him," he continued, adding, "Then she became this famous person, arguably the most famous woman in the world, since probably the Queen passed away."
